| A number of inexperienced systems administrators and a period of significant growth in the number of users and devices left the information systems infrastructure in a state of unstable flux. Willow was faced with a situation where a lack of systems strategy and operational strucutre led to an insecure, unstable network comprised of bandaid solutions. Frustrated users were incurring thousands of dollars each week in lost productivity.
In 2004, Willow appointed a Director of Strategy to the Information Systems department whom subsequently sought from the market an integration company to undertake the upgrade of their ICT environment.
Blue Apache competed successfully for the business and consolidated the existing five Windows NT 4.0 servers to two Windows 2003 servers. Adhering to the Microsoft Solutions Framework, Blue Apache planned the installation of Microsoft Active Directory and the upgrade and migration of the SQL and Exchange enterprise systems. Finally, Blue Apache co-ordinated and performed the upgrade successfully over one weekend.
With the ICT infrastructure professionally installed and managed under a Blue Apache emPOWER Managed Services Agreement, users no longer experience frustrating interuptions. Post implementation, Willow have achieved a return of four times on their investment in infrastructure
